Stand For Something Good

When Shake Shack started as a hot dog cart in New York City’s Madison Square Park, our mission was simple: raise funds for a public art project.

In 2013, Shake Shack landed in London and opened in iconic Covent Garden.

As Shake Shack grew into a global business, our mission to Stand For Something Good expanded to include taking care of our team, sourcing premium ingredients from like-minded partners, designing our Shacks responsibly, supporting our communities through donations, events, and volunteering—and much more.

Doing good is in our roots, a part of our DNA since day one. 20 years later, we’re still continuing to expand and evolve our mission to Stand For Something Good in everything we do.

We Enrich Our Neighbourhoods

We strive to be the best employers and citizens of each neighbourhood we call home. Every Shack donates 5% of sales of a specific concrete to a local charity partner, and we encourage our teams to get involved in causes they feel passionate about in their communities.

People-First Culture

At Shake Shack, our people are the core of who we are and what we stand for. Our team members are at the forefront of our decisions, all the while encouraging hope, optimism, affirmation, and ongoing learning.

Fully traceable

100% Aberdeen Angus beef, grass-fed on UK pastures. Our freshly ground proprietary Shack blend is source verified and fully traceable. We pride ourselves on sourcing incredible ingredients from like-minded artisanal producers.

We love our planet

Our packaging is recyclable and compostable where possible. Our cooking oil is reused to produce clean energy.

All good in the wood

Each Shack is constructed thoughtfully and purposefully to fit it’s unique environment, using a creative design approach that creates places and experiences like nowhere else.
